SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing Autodesk Civil 3D design support to project management staff for Builder Surveys/Exhibits (Production, Custom Home, etc.), Title Surveys, Boundary Surveys, ALTA/CAT 1A, Topo Surveys, and small design surveys.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with deed research and abstract deeds
• Prepare easements and M&B Exhibits
• Write M&B descriptions of tracts
• Compute missing boundary points for RPLS approval
• Prep field work/deed sketch
• Create base map for field crews and process field crew data
• Produce final drawings
• Reduce acquired field data into a neat and accurate plat of survey and/or Metes and Bounds Description for survey work awarded
• Responsible for pertinent research, as needed, to complete a neat and accurate plat of survey and/or Metes and Bounds Description for survey work awarded
• Responsible for processing field data
• Build GIS databases
• Perform survey tasks as per the direction of the Project Manager and Project Surveyor
• Prepare Field Packages
• Perform survey tasks as per the direction of the Project Manager and Project Surveyor
• Import points into CAD software and draw topographic features
• Prepare Exhibits and Legal Descriptions
• Work from detailed sketches or off redlines to prepare plans, profiles, and detail drawing in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Develop construction and planning documents showing topographical contours, elevations, profiles and cross-sections as well as develop draft design engineering drawings
• Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names; line and character styles; drawings and file names for sheet layout
• Handle AutoCAD transfers
• Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision
• Inform Project Managers(s) of progress on assigned projects and request work when needed
• Maintain organized work area to allow access of project information by other team members
• Flexible in work assignments and team assignments
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2 years’ experience
• Some experience, can handle most tasks efficiently
• Associates Degree in Computer-Aided Design from a College or Technical School
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD – Civil 3D
• Understanding of Civil Engineering, Land Development and Land Surveying
• Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
• Effective communication skills with all levels of employees within an organization, both oral and written skills
• Effective interpersonal skills with all levels of employees within an organization as well as clients and public agency officials
• Self-starter
• Highly motivated with the Ability to work interdependently within a team environment
• Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs
