Laundry Attendant
Overview
The purpose of a Laundry Attendant is to ensure laundry is clean and ready for room attendants to stock guest rooms.
Responsibilities:
- Prior to washing, ready linen by removing foreign objects.
- Wash and dry laundry using correct formula for each wash load.
- Fold items using technique as outlined in brand standards or by management.
- Ensure that finished laundry has no wrinkles, tears or stains - remove unacceptable product to a specified location to ensure only quality product is used in guest rooms.
- Maintain laundry area in a clean and orderly manner; check and clean lint traps daily on all equipment.
- Perform all duties in accordance with brand standards and with emphasis on meeting or exceeding guest expectations.
- Performs any other duties as requested by supervisor.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- No formal education or experience required.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time up to 8 hours a day.
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow through, and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to grasp, bend, and stoop; push or pull heavy loads weighing up to 30 lbs.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the collection, cleaning, and distribution of laundry.
- This includes the distribution of bed sheets and towels, the retrieval of soiled articles of laundry from guest rooms and facilities, and the sanitizing and washing of laundry items before redistribution.
- Spot clean and perform reclaim as needed as per standards.
- Track all discards and stock linen on the proper floors as per standards to the par level.
- Keep Laundry area clean and well maintained.
- Clean the lint trap minimum two times during shift and end of the shift.
- Keep all equipment clean and well maintained, including laundry carts.
- Ensure proper chemicals are always maintained for proper cleaning.
- Cleaning chemicals are also refilled when required.
- Work with the front desk with any guest request. (i.e. Towels, etc)
General Responsibilities:
- A Hotel Laundry Person, also known as a Laundry Attendant, has several key responsibilities in the hotel’s operations. Sorting, washing, drying, and folding items.
- Removing stains from items using appropriate procedures.
- Formulating washing formula for stained loads and all other laundry products processed through the laundry area.
- Report any maintenance issues of laundering equipment.
- Ensuring the facility always remains clean.
- Maintain cleanliness of the lobby & public areas.
