What We Need:
We are looking for a Public Sector Contract Manager to join our HNI Workplace Furnishings team.
The Public Sector Contract Manager is responsible for and managing government (federal, state, and local) contracts and supporting Education sector from inception to completion. This role will be knowledgeable on the HNI product portfolio and sales strategy related to the public sector business strategy. This role will ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations (FAR), contract requirements, and company policies while supporting the successful execution of government programs.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and implement a standardized processes for Public Sector segment (federal, state, and local government and education) contracts, proposals, solicitations, and renewals ensuring regulatory compliance while securing successful bid awards.
- Oversee the full Public Sector contract lifecycle from proposal to punch/closeout.
- Partner with key internal and external stakeholders for timely resolution to obstacles.
- Monitor contract performance, deliverables, and timeless to ensure contract terms and conditions are adhered to.
- Provide support and management to sales team in the execution of project deliverables, taking ownership for problem resolution and completion of project.
- Identify potential contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies partnering with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Legal, Sales, etc. for immediate resolutions.
- Assist Sales team in the navigation of public sector contract terms and conditions.
- Monitor contract budgets and financial performance providing timely and accurate reporting.
- Track contract modifications, invoices, and payments to ensure compliance with financial terms.
- Maintain accurate contract records and documentation in compliance with government regulations and audit requirements.
- Ensure timely submission of required reports, certifications, and deliverables.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance contract management efficiency and compliance.
- Supervise, coordinate, provide leadership and review work of assigned members. Conduct performance evaluations and recommend merit increases, promotions, transfers, corrective actions, and other personnel actions. Interview and recommend candidates for employment. Drive member engagement.
- Participate in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.
What You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Marketing related field required.
- At least 3 years of experience working with federal contracts or commercial furnishings is required; 5 years of experience preferred.
- At least 3 years of direct contract negotiations experience with Public Sector customers is required.
