What We Need:
We are looking for a Vice President of Dealer Development to join our HNI Workplace Furnishings team.
The role is responsible for creating and executing a long-term strategic plan to develop the company’s dealer network, optimizing overall performance and profitability. This role will identify and lead efforts to enhance the dealer network through development of existing, and acquisition of new, strategic partnerships.
What You Will Do:
- Analyze market trends, competitor landscape, and performance to inform dealer development strategy
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap to grow the company’s dealer network within existing and new strategic relationships.
- Identify, secure, and integrate new strategic relationships into the company’s dealer network.
- Create and analyze performance metrics to evaluate dealer success and respond quickly to build and implement strategies for company growth both within the dealer’s business, and through dealer partners market share growth.
- Conduct regular dealer business reviews to obtain significant insight into performance, goal attainment, and robust forward business plans.
- Collaborate with decision sciences team to implement channel insights from dealer data to drive continuous company performance improvement.
- Collaborate with learning and development teams and external consultants to build and implement dealer capability development programing for improved dealer performance.
- Collaborate with sales teams to deliver sales goals.
- Supervise, coordinate, provide leadership and review work of assigned members. Conduct performance evaluations and recommend merit increases, promotions, transfers, corrective actions, and other personnel actions. Interview and recommend candidates for employment. Drive member engagement.
- Participate in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.
What You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 10 years of relevant business experience required; 12 years of experience preferred.
- At least 5 years of management/leadership experience is preferred.
What You’re Good At:
- Demonstrated history of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or CRM tools is preferred.
- Advanced understanding and practitioner of communication, including but not limited to policy deployment, delivering presentations to internal and external audiences, active listening, writing reports, formal or informal meetings, email and phone communications required.
- In-depth history of developing and implementing solution paths for a multitude of problems. Able to balance problem-solving with problem-studying. Has a history of actionable decision making that shows sound judgement required.
- Advanced understanding of organizational functions. Able to leverage that knowledge to act strategically and further the organization’s goals required.
- In-depth history of establishing and leveraging networks to facilitate business transactions. Communicating empathy, respect, and appreciation to team members required.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, effectively guide a team, and make decisions within the framework of the organization’s strategic intent required.
- Ability to navigate and successfully negotiate at a high level within the dealer network required.
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the dealer/manufacturing relationship and ability to build long-term relationships required.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and measure a management system aligned with organizational goals required.
- Advanced understanding and ability to craft compelling business cases, allocate company capital for maximum ROI and report financial returns required.
- In-depth performance history of building strong relationships creating a trust with business partners and ability to navigate through conflict and significant change management successfully for mutual positive outcome required.
