Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens for laboratory testing, as well as registering patients and verifying demographic information. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as attention to detail and accuracy.
Essential Duties:
- Collects blood and other medical specimens from patients
- Performs venipunctures and explains proper collection procedures
- Registers patients and verifies billing information
- Processes, stores, and transports specimens according to laboratory requirements
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Related experience preferred
- Current certification in BLS required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
