Job Summary
Prepares and processes specimens for transport and/or analysis under the supervision of a technologist. Performs moderately complex laboratory testing, enters results into the Laboratory Information System, and completes designated testing tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs CLIA classified moderately complex laboratory testing and enters results into the Laboratory Information System under direct supervision of a technologist.
- Accurately calibrates pipettes and thermometers according to SOPs, and records data.
- Provides clinical orientation and training of new employees/students.
- Coordinates paperwork between LVHN and vendors for legal cases, hardware disposal, and products of conception.
Requirements
- Graduate of a health/medical assistant program or similar training from an accredited institution where general laboratory technique is taught.
- Meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for moderate complexity testing.
- Two years in a clinical environment with data processing/specimen handling experience.
Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English.
- Ability to use Laboratory Information System and various software programs.
Work Schedule
Variable Days, Monday through Sunday, including a weekend and holiday rotation.
