The Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting enterprise data governance and analytics initiatives for the Department of State Health Services (DSHS). Key Responsibilities:
- Support implementation of metadata management and data governance strategies for DSHS data assets
- Collect and document data asset metadata from various sources and fill implementation templates
- Analyze business systems, processes, and data structures to support enterprise data governance
- Assist in implementing and optimizing tools such as Informatica Axon, Enterprise Data Catalog, and Data Quality
- Facilitate metadata modeling discussions, design sessions, and stakeholder presentations
- Create and maintain business process flows, data flow diagrams, and supporting documentation
- Serve as a liaison between project stakeholders, technical teams, and business units
- Use business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and Excel to analyze raw data and generate insights
- Summarize findings for leadership and prepare materials for status reporting and decision-making
- Support the adoption of the Texas Data Management Framework and ensure alignment with state data standards
- Lead or participate in design meetings, project planning, and data governance initiatives
- Work independently with considerable latitude, exercising initiative and judgment in problem-solving
