Java Developer (Hybrid Position)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our application development team supporting mission-critical systems. The developer will be responsible for planning, developing, testing, and documenting computer programs to support financial, HR, clinical, and statistical systems. This role includes front-end development with modern UI technologies and back-end development of web services using Java in a service-oriented architecture (SOA).

You will work on converting legacy SOAP services to RESTful APIs, creating modern, responsive user interfaces, and supporting system analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization. This position requires expertise across the full development life cycle, a strong understanding of object-oriented and structured design methodologies, and experience with both front-end and server-side Java technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-class applications using the JEE platform.
• Build responsive, client-facing UIs using frameworks like Angular or React.
• Convert legacy SOAP-based services to modern RESTful APIs.
• Develop and support secure, scalable RESTful services in a JBoss EAP environment.
• Participate in requirements gathering, design sessions, and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and performance issues.
• Create and maintain system and design documentation, data models, and process flows.
• Ensure application reliability through rigorous unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and business analysts.
• Support production applications with troubleshooting, debugging, and issue resolution.
• Assist with deployment and post-implementation support activities.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning when applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
