The Web Administrator will report to the Director of Creative and Production within the Communications Division and perform highly complex, senior-level web design and content management work. This role is instrumental in managing and supporting the migration and maintenance of multiple related websites, including the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) flagship website, which encompasses over 3,000 pages.
Working in close partnership with the IT Web Services team, this position serves as a liaison between Communications and IT, translating technical concepts into user-friendly solutions. The Web Administrator ensures all content is current, accurate, accessible, and aligned with agency and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the migration of multiple related websites, ensuring content is up-to-date, user-friendly, and accessible.
- Administer and update website content using the Drupal CMS, including taxonomy, navigation, and structured content development.
- Design and prepare graphics, text, and tables to align with UI/UX best practices.
- Collaborate with content managers and contributors across divisions to implement and maintain consistent web content.
- Coordinate updates, enhancements, and infrastructure improvements while maintaining SEO, performance, and mobile responsiveness.
- Translate technical requirements into communication strategies for internal stakeholders.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and provide remediation for digital content including websites, forms, and PDFs.
- Monitor website performance and analytics, implementing improvements for speed, reliability, and scalability.
- Provide training, support, and guidance to content contributors on CMS usage and adherence to content governance policies.
- Test and validate code, design, and content for browser and device compatibility.
- Serve as the main point of contact for cross-functional communication between Communications and the IT Web Services team.
