CLINICAL NURSE I-IV - CARDIOVASCULAR OPERATING ROOM (CVOR)
Department: Nursing Status: Full Time Shift: 1st Remote or Onsite: Location:Newport Beach, CA, US, 92617
Salary Range: $47.8400 - $74.1700 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education. Clinical Ladder/Level opportunities will be reviewed based upon experience, education, and certification.
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate CVOR Nurse to join our dynamic cardiovascular surgical team. As a CVOR Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacements, and other complex heart surgeries. You will play a key role in ensuring safe and efficient care during the perioperative phase of surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
Preoperative Care:
- Assess patient conditions, including cardiovascular history, physical examination, and lab results.
- Collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to plan and implement appropriate care before, during, and after surgery.
- Educate patients and their families about the surgical process and provide emotional support.
- Provide direct care to patients during cardiovascular surgeries, ensuring the sterile field is maintained.
- Monitor vital signs, heart rhythms, and other critical parameters during surgery.
- Assist with positioning, instrumentation, and any emergency procedures required.
- Administer medications, blood products, and fluids as needed in coordination with the surgical team.
- Monitor patients as they transition from the operating room to the recovery area.
- Assess for complications and provide interventions when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team regarding patient status and recovery.
Collaboration and Education:
- Work closely with cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient education regarding recovery, medications, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care.
- Stay current with advancements in cardiovascular care and surgical techniques.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
Clinical Nurse at Magnet designated facilities only require a BSNorthat a BSN program is started within one year of hire date and BSN degree is attained within two years of the starting the BSN program.
BSN preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Current/ Active, and in good standing Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required within 6 months of employment.
- CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) or CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) preferred but not mandatory.
Experience:
- Preferred: 2 years of experience in a CVOR or surgical setting, with a focus on cardiovascular procedures.
- Experience with heart surgeries such as CABG, valve replacement, and aortic repairs is highly preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, sterile techniques, and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure in high-stakes environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
