MAMMOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST II - IRVINE BREAST CARE & IMAGING
Department: Allied Health Status: Per Diem Shift: 1st Remote or Onsite: Onsite Location:Irvine, CA, US, 92602
Salary Range: $45.4100 - $69.8500 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
The Mammography Technologist performs routine screening and diagnostic mammography examinations to obtain high-quality radiographs.
- Obtains images of excellent diagnostic quality to optimally demonstrate anatomy and/or pathology while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients.
- The Mammography Technologist educates the patient/family about the procedure as well as provides pre and post-procedure instructions.
- The Technologist takes measures to provide and care for the patient’s safety and properly utilizes procedure-related patient care/support devices appropriate for the age of the patient.
- Alerts Supervisor and/or appropriate staff of potential problems or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintains a relaxed environment to calm anxious patients.
- Also performs special procedures, assists with quality control testing, and ordering of supplies.
- Offers guidance to less experienced staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Associate's Degree or higher.
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology program is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of mammography experience is required.
License Required
- California Radiologic Technologist Diagnostic Radiologic Technology - CRTXR
- California Radiologic Technologist Mammographic Radiologic Technology - CRTMA
Certifications Required
- ARRT Radiography - RTR
- AHA BLS certification
- ARRT Mammography - RTM
