What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auditor- Senior Associate / HPM position at Hoar?
The Auditor is responsible for performing contract audits and related review procedures. In this role, you may be required to travel up to 25% of the time.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts or assists with basic to moderately complex construction audit projects under supervision of audit management
- Ensure job cost is charged in accordance with contract documents with special focus on: Burden Rates, Insurance (General Liability, Worker’s Comp, Subguard, etc.), Equipment Rental, and Unallowable overhead charges
- Analyze owner and subcontractor change orders
- Prepare audit findings report and present to owners
- Provide feedback to owners on contract market rates and best practices
- Review subcontracts for pricing and reasonableness
- Scrutinize pay applications for proper backup and appropriateness
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in an auditing role with related accounting duties, preferably in the A/C/E industry
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principals including generally accepted accounting principles
- Audit, Documentation, and Presentation Skills
- Attention to Detail, Thoroughness, and Objectivity required
- Proficient in MS Office
- Valid Driver's License Required
