What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Attendant position at Hobart Animal Clinic?
Our fast-paced 24-hour emergency clinic is looking to hire a part time kennel attendant to our team! We are looking for a kind and attentive individual to fill the position of kennel attendant so that we can ensure the health and happiness of the animals in our care.
The ideal candidate should possess a flexible schedule, being available to work during various shifts throughout the week, including days, afternoons, and nights from Monday to Sunday. Applicants must have a desire for a long term career in the field of veterinary medicine.
We have one part-time position available. Must be available evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities:
-Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for the staff and animals in our facility
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas (including but not limited to our treatment area, lobby, bathrooms and breakroom).
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals admitted into our hospital and report any concerns to techs
- Handle animals safely and securely during various procedures
Skills:
- Experience in animal care is preferred
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and safe handling practices
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures and terminology is a plus
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments confidently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking
