Veterinary Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal care and possess the skills necessary to provide high-quality support in a veterinary setting. This role involves working closely with veterinarians and other staff to ensure the health and well-being of our animal patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
• Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Monitor animal patients' vital signs and overall health during procedures.
• Prepare animals for surgery, including anesthesia induction and catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
• Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas.
• Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures to minimize infection risks.
• Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines safely.

Requirements

• Proven experience in pet care or veterinary settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures is essential.
• Skills in animal catheterization, laboratory testing, and veterinary critical care are highly desirable.
• Experience with equine care is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A commitment to providing compassionate care for animals of all types.
• Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred but not required.

Pay: $24.85 - $26.50 per hour
