Role Overview :
As the Small Business Underwriting Manager , you will play a pivotal role in leading their Small Business Underwriting team to achieve production and underwriting goals, ensuring profitability. You will provide guidance and mentorship to your team, focusing on sales strategies and retail agency management to drive the success of surplus lines insurance products.
Key Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or marketing preferred.
- 8 years of experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry.
- General Liability underwriting experience is essential. Excess & Surplus lines underwriting experience is highly preferred.
- Residential P&C and Surplus Line License, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Established relationships with retail agents are advantageous.
- Strong business acumen and financial understanding.
- Proven ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
