Account Manager Job Description:
The Account Manager will develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with customers. To ensure all business needs, development projects, and other deliverables are clear and understood internally/externally, the Account Manager shall serve as liaison between the customer and company. This position will have a robust knowledge of the company’s operational processes & capabilities and be able to manage a wide range of deliverables to a successful outcome. This role integrates the functions of customer management with supply chain, which is essential for ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction. As part of the sales team, the account manager will participate in activities that foster growth and create new opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute/manage customer contracts, supply agreements, and other relevant commercial activity.
- Bridge communication between customer and internal cross-functional teams within business (i.e., NPD Projects, Engineering, Quality) communicating client needs and resolving escalated issues.
- Drive and effective internal sales process to ensure sales and operations alignment and monthly sales plan achievement.
- Develop and maintain customer facing analytics, summary performance data, business review metrics, presentations, and other customer reporting needs.
- Provide input to monthly sales dashboard, sales pipeline data management, win/loss metrics.
- Support business development process, prospecting, presentations, attending trade shows, and other sales related activities.
- Pursue and position the company for new opportunities within existing accounts.
Requirements:
- Able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
- Bachelor’s degree; 5 – 10 years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably B2B.
- Highly motivated and disciplined self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Advanced problem solving and analytical skills, able to organize, evaluate, interpret, and present insightful data.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage conflicting priorities and to complete assignments.
- Ability to develop and articulate insightful sales reports and documents.
- High level of organization and detail oriented.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (desired).
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to efficiently recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Ability to process information logically and justify strategies and decisions based on facts; ability to efficiently recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
