What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flagger / Groundsman / Lineman for Fiber position at Hock Communication?

We are looking for energetic career minded people who have leadership skills. We are looking to train people from the ground up which details of flagging traffic /ground hand work for a fiber optic company . We would also like people to learn how to climb poles once they mastered the craft of being a ground hand. Please don’t waste our time and your time if you have doubts on doing the duties of this line of work.
Flagger Responsibilities include:
- Flagging traffic with Stop and Slow paddles.
- Preparing truck for job site, set up and tear down of signs and job site.
Ground Hand Responsibilities include:
- Spinning heavy reels of fiber
- Pulling 50lb Lasher with a rope from one pole to the next
- Assisting fiber inside buildings and through underground pipe
- Carrying ladders and other equipment through easements.
Qualifications required:
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Common sense is a must
- Must be reliable and wanting to work
- Must be a team player and take pride in your work
- Must have a valid Driver's license
- High school diploma preferred but not required
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions and tolerate varying climates of heat, cold, and rain
- Must be able to stand throughout your entire shift, hand and arm movement is required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be available Monday thru Friday, 1st shift
- Must be able to handle a physically demanding job.
$18.00/hour to start, with eligibility of a pay increase after 90 days.
