Beyond Cleaning: The Essential Functions of a Custodial Supervisor
Hocking College seeks a skilled custodial supervisor to lead our facilities department. This role requires a unique blend of maintenance expertise, supervisory skills, and customer service abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly supervise and train custodial staff to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the campus.
- Assess and recommend cost-effective solutions for facility maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Communicate effectively with college administrators, faculty, staff, and students to address facility-related concerns and issues.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with relevant safety protocols, regulations, and best practices.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures related to facilities management.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors as needed to ensure timely and effective delivery of services.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Student Experience and Success Support Services.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or completion of an apprenticeship preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a custodial or facilities management role, with a strong background in supervision, maintenance, and customer service.
- Ability to read floor plans, technical drawings, instructional drawings, and building codes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
