Salary: $20 per hour
I. Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Trio Program Director, the employee will perform the following functions: Perform supportive participant related activities to increase the level of academic success and retention of Hocking College Trio participants; assist with program outreach, tutoring and perform other duties as assigned.

II. Duties and Responsibilities
o Recruit new participants by attending campus outreach events, classes, orientation
o Conduct Intake Interviews (Needs Assessment & Achievement Plan)
o Provide academic advising for program participants (degree planning, course selection, scheduling, staying on course to degree completion)
o Document student meetings and progress in database, service logs, excel sheet
o Provide academic assistance/study skills/tutoring to participants
o Conduct/plan/facilitate Student Development workshops for Trio participants
o Assist with FAFSA completion, provide financial aid/scholarship/work study information
o Advise and assist with the transfer process and provide campus visits (when possible)
o Assist with coordination and support for student activities and chaperone field trips
o Provide referrals to appropriate campus and community resources
o Engage students in career exploration and career fairs, assist with resume writing
o Follow our stellar customer service standard with all students

Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
o Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required; Master’s preferred
o Advising/Tutoring/Providing academic assistance
o Experience with serving a diverse student population
o Knowledge of FAFSA, financial aid processes and financial literacy
o Great interpersonal communication skills
o Ability to plan and facilitate group activities/workshops
o Understanding of MS Office/databases and experience with documentation
o Independent worker and Team player
o Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required; Master’s preferred
