Deputy Clerk Position at Hockley County Tax Office
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Deputy Clerk to join our team. The Deputy Clerk will provide administrative support and assist in the efficient operation of the office. This role involves a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations.
Responsibilities:
- Respectfully assist tax payers with paperwork, registrations and payments
- Assist in filing, word processing, and data entry tasks
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient office operations
- Handle drafting and documentation tasks
- Perform clerical duties such as organizing files, and managing correspondence
- Assist with customer service inquiries and provide information as needed
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records
- Support the office in various administrative tasks as required
- Legible hand writing is a must
- Self motivated
- Able to work with others is a must
Experience:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries effectively and respectfully
- Proven experience in an administrative or clerical role.
- Proficiency in office procedures and methods including file management and word processing.
- Efficient in bookkeeping duties such as daily balancing, invoicing and data entry
- Experience with cash handling procedures is preferred.
- Must reside in Hockley County.
