The Child Watch & Family Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Child Watch department and planning all Family Events at the branch. This is a part-time position, averaging 15–20 hours per week, with up to 20 hours during Family Event weeks.
Essential Functions
- Manage staffing and scheduling for both Child Watch and Family Events in alignment with budget and program expectations.
- Fulfill assigned direct service hours in the Child Watch program.
- Establish and maintain positive, supportive relationships with children and families.
- Provide high-quality care for children participating in programs.
- Adhere to all Hockomock Area YMCA policies and procedures, including child protection protocols.
- Demonstrate a pleasant, professional, and welcoming demeanor.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with parents and guardians.
- Plan and coordinate Family Events throughout the year.
- Maintain and adjust Child Watch schedules to ensure adequate coverage and adherence to operating hours.
- Co-facilitate at least three department staff meetings annually.
- Train all new department staff in standard operating procedures.
- Maintain open, consistent communication with staff, supervisors, and participant families.
