Employment Specialist
General Duties
This position serves as a point of contact for finding employment/internships with the business community for individuals with dissabilities. The position also serves as the point of contact with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). The position may also be responsible for job coaching when an individual is hired by an employer.
Specific Responsibilities
1) Provide one-on-one services for clients including; determine employment readiness, job development, coaching, reports and follow along services.
2) Provide support through out job seeking process and supports following hire.
3) Prepare reports according to DVR technical specifications.
4) Communicate effectively with agency, DVR and long-term support funding sources.
5) Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Must have a reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Must have a valid drivers license, good driving record and insurance.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Minimum one, year experience in the areas of business and/or human services
Physical Requirements
While working the employee is frequently asked stand, walk and stoop. Specifically, when coaching considerable time is spent walking and standing. Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 40 pounds, and walk up and down stairs. and down stairs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
