What are the responsibilities and job description for the Salesperson position at Hodge?
As a Salesperson, you are responsible for maintaining and expanding our customer base by frequently contacting current and potential customers to sell material handling equipment, lease material handling equipment and promote rentals as well as product support.
Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
- Visit customer locations to evaluate needs or to promote product/service sales
- Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, etc.
- Make recommendations to customers regarding proper equipment for their needs
- Provide quotes and order equipment
- Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, warranties or other information pertaining to purchased product
- Update Sales Force information as required
- Demonstrate use of equipment
- Communicate with customers through e-mail, phone and face-to-face correspondence
- Work toward continuous improvement
- Stay current with changing technology
- Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures
Reporting to this position: No direct reports
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the Salesperson must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill and ability required.
Education/Experience:
Required:
- High School Diploma, GED or continuing education
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Tools)
Preferred:
- College degree and/or continuing education
- Previous sales experience
- Previous experience with/knowledge of material handling equipment
License & Certification:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Forklift Operator certification
