Food Service Worker

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of meal preparation and food handling practices. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our restaurant. Your responsibilities will include preparing ingredients, assisting in menu planning, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and chop ingredients according to recipes and specifications.
• Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
• Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and other food preparation tools.
• Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages.
• Participate in training new kitchen staff on food handling procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred.
• Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and culinary skills.
• Familiarity with food handling guidelines and safety regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
• Strong knife skills and experience with various food preparation methods.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• A passion for the food industry and a desire to learn more about culinary practices.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week

• Evening shift

• Food service: 1 year (Preferred)
