My client is seeking seeking a highly motivated and experienced GIS Analyst to lead and manage their organization's Geographic Information System (GIS). The ideal candidate will have a proven history of success in managing GIS projects, teams, and data, and a passion for leveraging GIS technology to drive business decisions. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.
Duties
- Strategic Planning & Management: Develop and implement the overall GIS strategy and vision, aligning it with the organization's strategic goals. This includes budgeting, resource allocation, and long-term planning for GIS infrastructure and technology.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Manage and mentor a team of GIS professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and professional development.
- Project Management: Oversee all aspects of GIS projects from initiation to completion, including project scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control. This includes managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Data Management & Analysis: Develop and maintain robust data management procedures, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility. Conduct spatial analysis to support business decisions and solve complex problems.
- System Administration & Maintenance: Manage and maintain the organization's GIS software, hardware, and infrastructure, ensuring optimal system performance and security. This includes troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Technical Expertise: Stay current with the latest GIS technologies, software, and best practices. Provide technical guidance and support to other departments.
- Collaboration & Communication: Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborate with other departments to integrate GIS data and solutions into their workflows.
- Innovation & Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve GIS processes, workflows, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in GIS management, with a proven history of success in leading and managing GIS teams and projects.
- Extensive experience with GIS software, such as ArcGIS (ArcPro, ArcMap), Vetro, 3GIS, QGIS, or other relevant platforms.
- Strong understanding of spatial analysis techniques and methodologies.
- Experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with data integration and management techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred but not required:
- Experience with Python scripting.
- Experience managing remote employees.
- Experience in Telecommunications.
- Experience with GIS-based fiber management tools.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
