Position Summary : The Project Engineer will work within the Engineering Department and be assigned to support Hoffman Structures, Inc. (HSI), Hoffman's self-performed structural concrete affiliate company. The position will report to the VP of Operations and will work closely with the HSI Project Manager and HSI Project Superintendent. They will collaborate closely with design professionals, Hoffman, vendors, and subcontractors to address complex coordination issues. As the front line for identifying and resolving technical challenges, the HSI Project Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring smooth project execution. This position will be based entirely on the project site, with project locations varying from city to city or state to state. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project engineering, structural engineering, project management, and prior experience working with a structural concrete subcontractor or a general contractor that self-performed the structural concrete scope of work. This expertise is essential in addressing the unique challenges that arise in structural concrete projects, making this position an asset to the team in navigating technical problems, driving schedule, and ensuring that quality standards are met.
Salary Range : $76,500 - $95,000 annually, depending on experience.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Run meetings involving area managers, design team members, multiple subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Interface between area managers, multiple vendors, and / or subcontractors to help resolve field coordination items.
- Interpret design, construction documents, technical manuals, and quantifying materials required for construction from the documents.
- Coordinate all structural concrete and rebar elements including embeds supplied by others.
- Review and process submittal information and coordinate between multiple submittals to ensure the accuracy and functionality of each component of the various elements and systems.
- Generate, receive, and distribute requests for information (RFI).
- Receive and distribute change documents issued by other team members.
- Field survey layout of control lines and benchmarks.
- Serve as the technical advisor at onsite field construction office.
- Ability to coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP systems within the overall structural concrete project design.
