Job Purpose

The car wash Team Member is responsible for the care and maintenance of our customers’ vehicles. This includes greeting customers, vacuuming cars, guiding vehicles on to conveyor, towel drying, cleaning windows and interior of car. Providing excellent customer service to all guests in accordance with company policies. In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining an orderly environment by keeping car wash areas clean and free from debris/slips or other hazards that may affect their safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Acknowledge customer and direct vehicle to proper stopping point.
• Greet customer, accept any special instructions, and direct customer to cashier booth and waiting area.
• Remove all trash from vehicle interior and place in receptacle.
• Vacuum interior, including ashtrays, seats, consoles, floors, and mats.
• Hand wash vinyl/rubber mats, dry, and replace in vehicle.
• Apply air freshener.
• Ensure all windows are closed, remove all antennas (when applicable), fold in exterior mirrors (when applicable), and cover rear window wiper blade (when applicable).
• Clean interior glass, wipe down dash, steering column, console, door panels, etc.
• Keep the area free of trash and put equipment in the proper place when not in use.
• Drive vehicles on and off conveyor.
• Towel dry exterior of vehicles.
• Use washers and dryers for towels, and keep towels stocked and folded.
• Assist in other areas of the wash as directed.
• Clean and maintain facilities, grounds, tools, and equipment.
• All other duties assigned.

Requirements

• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license is preferred.

Working Conditions

• Outdoors year-round in all related weather conditions (i.e., sun, rain, wind, snow, extreme cold or heat).
• The work environment may also be noisy and may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and other substances.
• The role may involve some weekends and holidays, as car washes are often the busiest on these days.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to reach and work in awkward positions, move from entrance to exit end without assistance, and move materials from one height to another.
• Ability to enter and/or reach all areas of any type of vehicle, exterior and interior.
• Ability to step up into and down out of vehicles, as well as bend, reach, and crouch constantly.
• Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time without rest.
• Ability to use repetitive motions and actions with hands for long periods of time (i.e., gripping, squeezing, wiping, etc.).
