POSITION SUMMARY: The Sales Representative for the Airoflex Equipment division is responsible for managing and driving sales activities. In collaboration with the Sales Manager, this role requires the use of discretion and strategic sales skills to achieve and surpass sales objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To succeed as a Sales Representative for Airoflex Equipment, the individual must combine technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal skills. Key to the role is managing client relationships, preparing accurate proposals, and achieving sales goals. A proactive mindset, mechanical aptitude, and professionalism are essential, along with the flexibility to adapt to diverse conditions and travel as needed.
- Serve as the primary contact for Airoflex Equipment sales inquiries.
- Assess sales inquiries to prioritize opportunities based on deadlines and potential.
- Review bid documents, project details, and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Determine if preliminary engineering is required to develop a proposal.
- Draft proposal letters including exclusions, clarifications, exceptions, and applicable terms and conditions.
- Consult with senior management to gain approval for changes in price or terms during final contract negotiations.
- Conduct routine follow-ups on proposals to close sales effectively.
- Manage and maintain client accounts through active participation and coordination.
- Represent the company at trade shows and business meetings to promote products and services.
- Make direct sales calls to customers as needed.
- Advocate for Hoffmann/Airoflex’s interests when interacting with customers.
- Participate in ongoing reviews of RFQs with the Sales Manager.
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager to address pricing and/or contract term changes during final negotiations.
- Facilitate a seamless transition of sold projects to the assigned Project Manager with a complete and organized sales folder.
- Achieve sales quotas and meet revenue expectations.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial and/or material handling equipment sales.
- Proven ability to initiate sales through business development and client engagement.
- Expertise in strategic planning to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.
- Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to develop estimates, prepare proposals, and negotiate pricing, terms and conditions.
- Proficiency in accurately evaluating bid documents, project details, and drawings.
- Skilled in representing the company at site visits and business meetings, delivering effective sales presentations and proposals.
- Capability to learn and utilize estimating software and excel for proposal development.
- Proficiency in estimating Airoflex products and services for proposal preparation.
- Professional demeanor in appearance, actions, and communication.
- Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize important versus urgent tasks.
- Solid mechanical aptitude, particularly in the design of material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with auxiliary systems, such as electrical, controls, and hydraulics, is a plus.
- Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
- Understanding of welding and fabrication standards, as well as installation procedures, is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Primarily a desk-based position.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Ability and willingness to travel when required.
- Exposure to varying conditions while visiting client sites.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
