Demand Planning Analyst

Primary Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of the demand planning analyst is to create and maintain the demand forecast for assigned product classifications and items and to build collaborative relationships between cross departmental functions relative to improving and maintaining the forecast as it flows through the supply chain.

Essential Job Duties

• Create an unbiased baseline statistical forecast to cover reasonable customer demand based on historical data, market trends, and other relevant factors.in support of high customer fill rates and healthy inventory levels.
• Execute exception-based analysis to identify drivers in forecast error variances to quantify and implement changes to improve forecast accuracy and reduce bias.
• Work with cross functional teams to develop a collaborative consensus forecast.
• Data Mining - must be able to pull pertinent data and extract useful knowledge using Stratum Viewer, Microsoft Power BI, LX / IDF (ERP) software packages and Salesforce
• Utilize Forecast Pro or subsequent statistical forecasting tools in building and monitoring forecasts
• Manage forecast demand assumptions and expectations
• Closely coordinate and communicate demand requirements with supply planning in support of a formal S&OP program.
• Prepare relevant material to facilitate research and discussion for new item forecasts.
• Prepare and maintain relevant reports/spreadsheets/training documentation pertaining to demand and forecasting planning process.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requires Skills/Abilities

• Professional forecasting accreditation by a recognized accreditation agency a plus
• 1-3 years demand planning experience strongly desired or equivalent experience in an analytical or planning role
• Preferred experience using statistical forecasting applications
• Demonstrated strong aptitude in math, problem solving and analytical skills
• Able to analyze data, draw reasonable conclusions and recommend next steps
• Advanced computer skills (VLOOKUP's, pivot tables, etc.)
• Experienced in setting priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast paced growing environment
• Ability to identify variables driving business results
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills required
• Proficient systems user including MS Excel and related software
• Ability to own and implement process change
• Knowledge of ERP systems and functions such as scheduling, planning, MRP and S&OP preferred
• Minimum Bachelor degree or equivalent professional qualifications
• 1-3 years demand planning experience or equivalent experience in an analytical or planning role
