Maintenance Technician

Hofmann Sausage is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team!

Since 1879, we have been known as the manufacturer of some of the TASTIEST products that include the German Frank, Snappy Griller, beef jerky, hunter sticks and more. Some of our classic recipes date back well over a century while others are newer, but we still use the same handcrafted techniques, quality cuts of meat and select spices that helped to make us famous. In this role, you will have the opportunity to experience a little bit of history through joining our team of ridiculously tasty product makers. We make the BEST hot dogs and sausages in America!

This position will work report to the Plant Manager and is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing production equipment ensuring the manufacturing process operates smoothly and efficiently. Work days will be Tuesday-Saturday.

What you’ll do

• Assist in the electrical and mechanical replacement of parts and motors on our processing equipment according to HAACP and SQF guidelines.
• Diagnose and clearly explain maintenance issues and the solution to your supervisor/manager.
• Quickly recommend accurate solutions to issues as they arise.
• Read, review and understand schematics for equipment controls, assisting in deterring failures and knowledge to make repairs.
• Troubleshoot equipment to determine mechanical issues and replace appropriate parts (valves, pumps, gear boxes, etc.) to keep the equipment operational.
• Knowledge of welding equipment to make minor repairs or fabrication of parts is a plus.
• Inspect and assess the operation of all mechanical systems to ensure the equipment is in proper working order.
• Track daily work orders and maintenance supply inventory.

You should have

• Required: 3 - 5 years of general machine maintenance.
• Required: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
• A general knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, welding and electrical.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• An eye for accuracy and thoroughness, looking for ways to improve and promote quality
• An understanding of how to use power and hand tools according to OSHA regulations.
• The ability to lift heavy objects and perform duties in cold, wet environments.
• Strong verbal written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
