Description
The Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant / associate professor level in Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Engineering at Hofstra University.
The Department of Engineering has an opening in its mechanical engineering program for a faculty member with expertise in at least one of the following : engineering mechanics, modeling of dynamic systems, solid mechanics, mechanical vibrations and / or similar fields.
The engineering programs at Hofstra are experiencing rapid growth, and the successful applicant will contribute to the department's ability to offer a top-tier undergraduate educational experience to our students. Hence, candidates must be effective communicators with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, be able to initiate sustained research - especially of a type that can involve advanced undergraduates - and show initiative in seeking external funding for research. - Earned PhD in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.
