Slat Plant Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

Hog Slat, Incorporated, is seeking an exceptional individual to join our team in our Concrete Slat Manufacturing plant in Universal, Indiana. The primary role of the person in this position is to direct and coordinate activities concerned with production of company product(s.)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

• Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
• Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities
• Check the quality of the produced concrete and takes correction measures in case in non-conformities.
• Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
• Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
• Revises productions schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.
• Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
• Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
• Work with vendors on the ordering of maintenance parts and production supplies
• Manages line supervisors in the Slat Plant and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the plant.
• Interview, hire, and train employees; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  
  
  

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

The IDEAL CANDIDATE will have the following experience/educational background:

• Management experience along with general knowledge of electric, hydraulic and pneumatic components and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations..
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel
• Demonstrate experience or desire to facilitate, encourage, coach and lead a team to reach set goals
• Ability to manage employees effectively and communicate strongly with current staff
