Job Summary
Compiles and records employee payroll data. Computes and posts wages and deductions. Prepare paychecks, including manual paychecks, when necessary. Prepare internal invoices for payroll services. Reconcile invoice from payments processor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Compiles and uploads payroll data into the payroll system.
- Processes paperwork for new employees and enters employee information into the payroll system.
- Updates employment information as necessary.
- Makes necessary adjustments to employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records.
- Helps employees setup direct deposit if needed.
- Calculates manual payments.
- Keeps informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.
- Compiles statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and submits them to appropriate departments.
- Completes verifications of employment.
- Enters garnishments and provides court ordered information.
- Updates and maintains payroll system, as needed.
- Prepares inter-company payroll invoices.
- Submits payroll deposits to a payments processor and reconciles their invoice.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required, Associates degree preferred
- 1-3 years payroll experience
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
- Proficient in Excel
