SUMMARY OF JOB
This role serves as the primary decision maker and problem solver for all health and safety responsibilities within the business. Reporting to the Human Resource Manager, this role will maintain awareness of all external requirements imparted by regulatory partners and ensure internal programs and systems meet or exceed them. They will also manage the training, processes and systems for all areas of focus. Sites supported are Hohman Plating, Ferco Aerospace, Longlok.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
HEALTH & SAFETY
- Manage the industrial hygiene interests of the business, protecting the health of employees and ensuring compliance to OSHA regulations
- Manage and ensure ongoing compliance of all OSHA, DHS & DOT-required safety programs
- Document and maintain OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements
- Train new and existing employees on all matters of safety at the required or optimal frequency
- Manage workers’ compensation scenarios in conjunction with human resources and departmental management
- Manages the Safety committee, coordinates safety improvement efforts
- Conducts accident investigations, data collection and regular reporting
- Conducts Safety Audits
- Align with external compliance auditors to take notes for lessons learned to improve
- Schedules, supervises and reports on yearly Industrial Hygiene and Hearing Conservation
- Ensures accuracy of all reporting to regulatory parameters, acts where applicable
- Engaging and influencing site functional leaders/supervisors, demonstrate leadership in all areas of occupational safety and holding yourself and others accountable for results
- Conduct weekly auditing functions and hold the organization accountable to desired work practices
- Administer and continuously improve the design and execution of the incident investigation system
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial health, science, safety engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 2-5 Years of Leadership Experience with focus on action and results
- Proven track record of developing operational plans and leading a team through the execution
- Previous Root Cause Corrective Action investigation experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills; good verbal / written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to dangerous chemicals, including exposure to fumes or airborne particles below OSHA permissible limits. Frequently exposed to high heat and humid conditions. Employee will be frequently exposed to loud sounds, below the OSHA permissible limits.
