About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Estimator to join our dynamic team. Compensation
- Base Salary: $55,000 - $75,000
- Monthly Commission: % of each project’s gross profit

Typical Hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (average 45 hours per week)
(With early starts, off-shift work, and overtime as needed to support your team) -
Out of Town Travel: Up to 15%

What You'll Do
- Review and Process Territory Sales Packages (TSPs): Analyze sales packages thoroughly to identify project requirements, scope, and specifications needed for accurate quoting.
- Prepare Detailed Project Estimates: Configure and generate precise quotes for hoists, jib cranes, gantry systems, and associated components, ensuring all materials and labor are accounted for.
- Procure Materials and Equipment: Source steel, hardware, and consumable supplies, and coordinate the acquisition of installation equipment necessary for successful project execution.
- Estimate and Allocate Costs: Calculate and assign labor and project management costs, factoring in installation complexity, site conditions, and resource availability.
- Collaborate with Engineering: Interface with engineering teams to clarify technical details, ensure feasibility, and address design challenges or client-specific customizations.
- Participate in Key Project Meetings: Attend pre-order, pre-installation, and post-installation meetings to provide estimating support and ensure alignment across all stakeholders.
- Maintain Organized Project Records: Compile and manage project documentation, including quotes, drawings, and technical data, in a well-structured, accessible format.
- Build Client Relationships: Cultivate strong working relationships with both internal team members and external clients to ensure smooth communication and long-term satisfaction.
- Contribute to Team Communication: Actively participate in daily project stand-ups and weekly department meetings to stay aligned on project progress, updates, and team initiatives.
- Support Project Data Management: Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive project reference library to streamline future estimating processes and improve accuracy.
- Manage Subcontractor Engagement: Solicit, review, and manage bids from third-party subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project needs and budgetary constraints.
- Interpret Project Documentation: Analyze scopes of work, technical drawings, blueprints, and requirement documents to develop a full understanding of each project’s technical and logistical needs.
- Identify and Evaluate Bidding Opportunities: Regularly review open commercial and government project bids to identify opportunities that align with company capabilities, strategic goals, and resource availability.
- Coordinate Bid Submissions with Sales Teams: Collaborate closely with local Territory Sales Representatives to assess project viability, gather necessary documentation, and ensure timely and competitive bid submissions.
- Leverage Historical Data: Apply insights from previous projects and industry experience to estimate costs for consumables and non-itemized materials.
- Champion Process Improvements: Identify and propose enhancements to existing workflows, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and team collaboration.
- Demonstrate Flexibility and Initiative: Work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Support Compliance and Standards: Ensure all estimates and project preparations adhere to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform Other Duties as Assigned: Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and overall company success.
✅ Your Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in estimating, preferably in construction, installation, or a related technical field.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in numerical analysis.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software (experience with [insert software here] is a plus).
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Team player with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
- Willingness to engage hands-on with service technicians in the field and fabricators in the manufacturing plant to gain practical insight and ensure accurate, grounded estimates.
