What are the responsibilities and job description for the 0.6 Health Teacher (Grades 6-12) position at Holbrook Middle-High School?
Qualifications:
1.Masters’ Degree in Health preferred, (Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with current Middle-High Certification).
2.Minimum three years teaching experience preferred.
Reports to: Holbrook Middle-High School Building Principal.
Job Goal: To ensure that the curriculum is implemented and all students develop an understanding of the principles of good health.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Majority of time will be spent in the direct instruction of students.
2. Establish activities, as necessary, for the implementation of the Comprehensive Health Curriculum Frameworks.
3. Serve on committees and attend meetings as requested by the Superintendent of his/her designee regarding the Health Education Program.
4. Prepare reports and records as requested by the Superintendent of his/her designee regarding the Health Education Program.
5. Assists in the preparation of the annual Health Education budget.
6. Ensures, through the Superintendent and/or designee, that there is an adequate inventory of health education supplies, equipment and books.
7. Assist in in-service training.
8. May represent the Holbrook Public Schools at professional meetings and activities related to health education as directed by the Superintendent.
9. Be responsible for the preparation of reports and proposal for grants or aids as needed or requested by Federal and State authorities with regard to the Health Education Program.
10. Will interpret the Comprehensive Health Curriculum Frameworks and its program of activities to parents and the community.
11. Will be a liaison between staff and administration on matters pertaining to the Comprehensive Health Curriculum Frameworks.
12. Writes the Safe and Drug Free Entitlement Grant and maintains all data and reporting information that is required by the Department of Education.
13. Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Superintendent of Schools.
Terms of Employment: per Teachers’ Contract
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually.
