ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is primarily responsible for safely and efficiently hauling materials from one designated area to another.
What You'll Accomplish
- Communicates clearly with personnel at load and unload areas;
- Maintains safe speed and observes all plant traffic controls;
- Conducts pre-trip safety inspection of vehicle, and reports any concerns or unsafe conditions to immediate Supervisor, including near misses and any other areas where safety may be improved;
- At Holcim US, SAFETY IS TRULY THE FIRST PRIORITY IN ALL THINGS!
- Ensures wheels are properly chocked or otherwise secured;
- Make certain that safety, compliance and environmental requirements are followed at all times;
- Attends and participates in all mandatory plant meetings to include safety, environmental, and compliance;
- Performs maintenance activities to ensure haul truck is maintained to the required standard and assist with other plant maintenance activities as required including site housekeeping or cleanup activities;
- A clean work area is a safe work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Required Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent;
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
- Subtraction, addition, and simple division and multiplication.
- Valid Class A CDL;Clean driving record;
- Minimum one (1) year of professional experience;
- Must pass DOT drug test, and obtain and retain DOT medical card.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
- Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
