ABOUT THE ROLE
In early 2024, Holcim announced its intent to list its North American business in the US with a full capital market separation. This process would create the leading pure-play building solutions company in the region. With a US listing, the new organization will be positioned to be the partner of choice in one of the world’s most attractive construction markets to fully capitalize on the region’s infrastructure and construction boom and accelerate growth to unlock value for its stakeholders.
To support this initiative, the FP&A team based out of the Chicago IL office is expanding its team and is actively recruiting a Senior Financial Analyst to provide strategic financial analysis, forecasting and business partnering support for its North American Operations. This role will report to the North American Senior Manager of FP&A.
In this role, you will be responsible for deeply analyzing financial data, generating and distributing proforma reports, creating comprehensive financial models, and providing strategic insights to management to optimize company performance by developing forecasts, identifying trends, and recommending actionable solutions based on your analysis. You will also play a key role in the budgeting and financial planning processes as a liaison between the corporate leadership team and business unit leaders.
What You'll Be Doing
Education: Bachelor's degree
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Accounting or Finance
Required Work Experience: 3 years working in finance and/or accounting
Required Training/Certifications: CPA/CFA/CMA a plus

What You'll Be Doing
- Investor Relations: Partner with the Investor Relations (IR) team to support the preparation of presentations and materials.
- Financial Modeling and Analysis: Building complex financial models to assess investment opportunities, evaluate potential business strategies, and project future financial performance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborating with different departments to develop detailed budgets, monitor spending, and provide accurate financial forecasts.
- Data Interpretation: Analyzing large datasets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Financial Reporting: Preparing comprehensive financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for senior management review by utilizing our management reporting system.
- Strategic Decision Support: Providing financial insights and recommendations to guide strategic decision-making across the organization.
- Team Support: Mentor junior financial analysts to help ensure quality of work.
- Investor Relations: Partner with the Investor Relations (IR) team to support the preparation of presentations and materials.

Required Computer And Software Skills
- Experience working with large ERP systems.
- Working knowledge of SAP and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). (Preferred)
- Microsoft Office. Advanced Excel modeling proficiency and dataset management as well as familiarity working in PowerPoint. (PowerPoint add-in think-cell)
- Strong analytical skills: Detail-oriented with expertise in data analysis, financial modeling, and interpretation of complex financial information.
- Financial knowledge: familiarity with accounting principles (GAAP), financial analysis techniques, reading financial statements and relevant financial metrics.
- Communication skills: Effectively communicating complex financial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving skills: Identifying issues, analyzing root causes, asking probing questions to uncover not just what happened but why, and developing practical solutions.
- Business acumen: Understanding of operations, market dynamics, and key drivers impacting financial performance.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
