ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for determining short and long-range objectives for assigned units, ensuring assigned projects or deadlines are accomplished, and working with the Plant Manager in meeting plant goals and objectives. Management activities the implementation of plant policies and procedures, enforcement of company policies and procedures, coordination of work unit programs, budgets, producing quality product and coaching, development and discipline of team members.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for determining short and long-range objectives for assigned units, ensuring assigned projects or deadlines are accomplished, and working with the Plant Manager in meeting plant goals and objectives. Management activities the implementation of plant policies and procedures, enforcement of company policies and procedures, coordination of work unit programs, budgets, producing quality product and coaching, development and discipline of team members.
What You'll Accomplish
- Ensures the goals and objectives established by the Plant Manager are communicated to team members
- Administer plant policies and procedures that support the overall mission of the product line and ensures compliance.
- Works in conjunction with Quarry Manager to track performance against established objectives and takes immediate corrective action to assure goals are realized.
- Oversee the loading and dispatching of barges carrying quarry products, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish.
- Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and necessary repairs.
- Maintain accurate paperwork and records for all shipping operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with captains and crew to ensure timely delivery schedules are met.
- Identifies process improvements and makes recommendations
- Builds constructive and effective relationships with internal and external customers, and is committed to meeting customer needs in a timely and accurate manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 3 years’ experience in river shipping operations, marine logistics or related field.
- Degree in construction technology, geology, business or related field preferred.
- 3 years supervisory experience desired.
- Proficiency with MS Office (spreadsheets). SAP experience preferred.
- Strong problem solving skills and proven ability to drive for results.
- Excellent people management skills.
- Disciplined and process-oriented.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
