Position Overview:


The Associate Director of Counseling and MCBI Services will lead the development and implementation of counseling services and MCBI initiatives at Holding Hands. This role is vital in ensuring the highest quality of care and support for our clients. The Associate Director will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, manage program operations, and engage with community stakeholders to promote mental health awareness and accessibility. This role is a pivotal role at Holding Hands because it equips our staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to help our clients and their families navigate not only an Autism diagnosis but many other diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, parent/child relationship issues, marital issues, family issues, etc. At Holding Hands, our mental health services include psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families and Modified Cognitive Behavior Interventions (MCBI), which treats the secondary symptoms of Autism such as depression or anxiety.

We are looking for a qualified candidate that is empathic while having strong critical thinking and interpersonal communication skills that understands the importance of diversity, a client-centered approach, collaboration, contract fulfillment, and so many more important attributes that come with this job position. The primary responsibilities would be to maintain a monthly client caseload made up of Psychotherapy clients and MCBI supervision clients, supervise and mentor a group of associates obtaining their hours towards licensure, reviewing reports, and attending monthly meetings with Directors and PCs.

The Associate Director of Counseling and MCBI will also be responsible for key clinical metrics and the clinical quality success of the department and programs. This individual will be assigned additional duties as appropriate pertaining to clinical operations and clinical training and support. Additionally, this candidate will be responsible for ensuring oversight in the areas of licensing regulations, legal and ethical regulations, clinical supervision, and quality assurance. The right candidate will be passionate about clinical quality but will have the ability to drive overall growth, metrics, and revenue for the departments.

Location: Our beautiful clinic in Burbank, CA

Compensation: $95,000 depending on experience

Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Build and lead a team of quality clinicians, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and best practices in mental health care.

  • Act as a liaison between clients, their families, and additional Holding Hands staff.

  • Responsible for key clinical metrics and the clinical quality success of the department and programs.

  • Staff Management: Lead, train, motivate and develop counseling staff, fostering a culture of professional development and teamwork.

  • Perform quality assurance (QA) checks on session notes, assessment tools, reports, and in vivo sessions.

  • Sign off on clinical hours towards licensure for associates and provide MCBI Supervision.

  • Clinical Oversight: Provide clinical supervision to all counselors, MCBI therapists, and supervisees to ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards and maintain high-quality service delivery.

  • Assist counselors, MCBI therapists and supervisees urgent clinical situations. Some situations may be after hours.

  • Assigned additional duties as appropriate pertaining to clinical operations and clinical training and support.

  • Responsible for ensuring oversight in the areas of licensing regulations, legal and ethical regulations, clinical supervision, and quality assurance.

  • Crisis Management: Develop and implement strategies for effective crisis intervention and support, ensuring timely responses to clients in need.

  • Program Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, utilizing data to inform continuous improvement and reporting to stakeholders.

  • Assist with the implementation of standard assessments and intakes with the counselors.

  • Billable Requirement: Fulfill a billable requirement of 10-15 hours per week, providing high-quality services to clients while effectively managing time and resources to support their needs.


Administrative Responsibilities

  • Assist staff to meet their billable requirements.

  • Implement counseling procedures according to the Counseling industry standards.

  • Implement the department's compliance with legal policies, guidelines, and standards of the governing boards.

  • Provide administrative oversight to all counselors, MCBI therapists and supervises under your supervision.

  • Ensure billing is correctly followed across all funding sources.

  • Coordinate with counseling schedulers, admissions team, and billing team to ensure that all services are in alignment.

  • Provide quality assurance (QA) checks on all paperwork uploaded to the Holding Hand's system.

  • Provide quality assurance (QA) checks regarding billing for your supervisees.

  • Work alongside the admissions department to ensure a smooth transition from the administrative side to the clinical side while onboarding a client.



Qualifications


  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.

  • Valid license in MFT, LCSW or a Psychologist in the State of California.

  • Be a member of a Regulatory Board (CAMFT, NASW, etc.)

  • Copy of Supervision CE requirement

  • Full-time availability (M-F), weekend emergency calls as required.

  • Must obtain fingerprint clearance with DOJ and FBI

  • The ability to exercise sound judgment when making decisions.

  • Strong knowledge of Autism and related disorders.

  • Strong leadership, management, and customer service skills.

  • The ability to be solution focused when solving problems.

  • Knowledge of policies and procedures in the clinical field

  • Compassion for working with a diverse population of clients and staff.

  • The capacity to be empathetic but also firm when needed.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards, promoting best practices, and advocating for the rights and well-being of individuals with ASD and developmental disabilities.
