What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper/Laundry position at Holiday Hill, Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY: Cleaning and sanitizing facility, including but not limited to resident rooms and bathrooms, as w nell as all common areas within facility. Performs duties involved in providing clean linens to all residents.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School graduate or equivalent.
· Ability to read and write.
· Ability to understand and follow instructions.
· Prior cleaning experience is a plus.
· Physical ability for walking, standing, bending, reaching, operating mops and brooms daily, pushing cleaning cart, and lifting without physical restrictions up to a weight of 50 pounds and transporting up to 300 pounds on carts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES for HOUSEKEEPING:
1. Daily cleans bathrooms including: sink, faucet, toilet (inside and out), and area under sink.
2. Daily sweeps and dusts furniture, vents, wall hangings, etc.
3. Daily mops assigned areas, responds quickly to wet hazards, keeps mop water changed and clean as directed.
4. Daily stocks bathroom and rooms with expendable supplies.
5. Daily removes trash and replaces bags appropriately.
6. Daily clean the soiled utility room.
7. Weekly cleans baseboards and walls in resident rooms.
8. Weekly cleans windows, window sills and tracks in resident rooms.
9. Weekly cleans entry door and bathroom doors in resident rooms on all edges and wipes with furniture polish.
10. Weekly cleans light fixtures, chairs, night stands, and chest of drawers.
11. Bi-Monthly assists with removing, cleaning and replacing all
cubical curtains, window curtains and blinds.
12. Monthly performs heavy duty cleaning in rooms by moving all furniture, and cleaning behind, beneath, above all areas which are usually unseen.
13. Monthly assists other housekeeping personnel on the first Sunday of the month to set up dining room for church services.
14. Cleans resident rooms promptly after resident is permanently discharged or transferred as stipulated in procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for LAUNDRY:
A. Collects soiled linen, inspects soiled linen for need of repairs, makes minor repairs and disposes of non-repairable linen, and returns to resident after cleaning.
B. Washes, dries, prepares for re-issue and delivers to rooms.
1. Operates washers and dryers in compliance with directions for processing linen.
2. Sorts, counts, and records the weight of soiled linen prior to processing.
3. Folds, bundles, and returns linens to clean linen storage.
4. Returns personal clothing to correct closets.
5. Marks or remarks residents name in their clothing.
C. Keep laundry room clean and tidy.
1. Replace and clean A/C filters, exhaust filters, and dryer lint filters.
2. Keep equipment clean including drain trap behind washer.
3. Clean linen closet, soiled linen barrels, and laundry area including sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS:
A. Follows universal standards of precautions when involved in direct resident contact or handling potentially infectious materials.
B. Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
C. Always respects the privacy and dignity of residents while entering and exiting their rooms and while cleaning their personal area.
D. Always reports maintenance issues in an appropriate and timely manner.
(doors closing improperly, lights put, leaking faucets, stopped toilets, etc.)
E. Promptly informs supervisor of low inventory of supplies and need for chemical dispensers to be refilled.
F. Follows safety guidelines and policies such as:
1. Places wet signs correctly and appropriately.
2. Removes wet signs timely.
3. Directs residents and staff away from wet or hazardous floors.
4. Always keeps cart and supplies secured and stored properly.
5. Locate and explain the purpose of the MSDS sheets.
6. Locate and explain the emergency procedures manual.
7. Locate and explain the lock out tag out procedures.
8. Can correctly and accurately explain resident abuse and knows how to properly respond and report.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $10.00 per hour
