What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Recreation position at Holiday House of Portsmouth, Inc?
The Assistant Director of Recreation Services is under the direct supervision of the Director of Recreation Services. The primary purpose of this job position is to provide an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the interests and physical, mental and psychosocial status of each individual we serve.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, directing, and instructing of all therapeutic recreational service programs of this facility.
Will serve as the Director of Recreation Services in the absence of the Director.
Meets with administration, medical, nursing staff, and other related departments in planning therapeutic recreational activities.
Involves the individuals/family in planning therapeutic recreation service programs when possible.
Provides consultation to members of the facility and community agencies in an effort to solve needs and problems of the individual through the development of therapeutic recreation service programs.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation and CTRS preferred. High school degree, plus 3-4 years’ experience in programming and implementation of recreational activities; experience with special needs children preferred.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
