The Holiday Inn at the Mainland Manahawkin/Long Beach Island located at 151 Route 72 West in Manahawkin, New Jersey is currently hiring for the position of houseperson in our housekeeping department. The Houseperson’s primary responsibilities include but are not limited to transporting clean and soiled linen to and from the Laundry to Room Attendants, vacuum rugs, shampoo rugs, mop floors, move furniture, clean windows, and any other duties that the Executive Housekeeper see fit to assign.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service
Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation
Personally, demonstrates a commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests’ needs
Committed to making every guest is satisfied
Meets or exceeds guest satisfaction measures
Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service
Implements and practices guest service initiatives and performs to Gulph Creek Hotel Standards
House Person Duties
Transport clean and soiled linens
Vacuum floors
Shampoo rugs
Mop floors
Move furniture
Deliver items to guest rooms per request
Lift, twist, bend stretch, all in the performance of their duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A High School degree preferred. Previous Housekeeping experience is helpful.
LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions
Ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests and supervisors for optimum operation of the property
REASONING ABILITY
Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
