Food and Beverage Director- Full Time, Year Round
The Holiday Inn By The Bay has been Maine’s premiere conference service hotel since 1973. We have Maine’s largest conference space (30,000 square feet and 13 function rooms!) and are able to accommodate up to 1,200 people at our events. Our location in the historic downtown waterfront area and the trendy West End of Portland combines an extraordinary blend of the past and present. Food and Beverage Director- Full Time Year Round
The Food and Beverage Director is responsible for overseeing the restaurant, banquets, and kitchen. We are looking for a positive, organized, driven, and customer service oriented individual to join our team!

• Responsible for achieving budgeted food and beverage sales, labor costs, and profitability of the department
• Monitor and meet all IHG food and beverage goals and standards
• Participates in marketing and menu planning
• Oversight of Banquet operations including set up and execution of events
• Leads team in hiring, motivating, evaluating, coaching, and directing staff to ensure adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established goals and objectives. Ensures that all employees receive the training, support, guidance, feedback, and resources necessary
• Ensure that staff properly clean and wipe down all equipment and that the room/area is left clean and tidy. Direct staff on proper food handling, safety, and sanitation
• Responsible for monitoring and enforcing our employees’ proper clock-in times, grooming policies (check uniforms, nametags, hygiene, etc…)
• Learn about state and federal environmental standards and OSHA regulations. Understand and enforce corporate and hotel specific policies and procedures
• Ensure that all Food and Beverage items are presented and served correctly, adhering to the standards set out by the Hotel and noting any special requests and instructions conveyed on the Banquet Event Orders
• Willing and able to help out and pitch in during busy times, in any position
• Contribute to the team effort of the overall hotel by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the hotel and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintaining a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.

organized and detail oriented

Must have a
high level of communication skills

Minimum of 5 years
of hospitality experience
·
Must be able
to stand for 8 hours
·
Must be
willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekends

Micros experience preferred
College degree preferred

Salary : $95,000 - $105,000
