What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Front Desk Agent position at Holiday Inn Downtown Indianapolis?

Shifts open - Weekdays (3pm-11pm), Weekends (7am-3pm) and (3pm-11pm) Full time and Part time available. Pay based on experience, starting at $14 an hour with limited experience. This is an IHG brand and has Opera property management system. If you have Opera experience this is a plus!
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply only if you have an outgoing, positive attitude and love to work with people!
- Receives shift instructions and drawer from Manager and reviews Front Desk Log.
- Generates current house status and pre-registration report.
- Compares housekeeping report to house status, resolves discrepancies with housekeeping, and performs daily bucket checks.
- Checks in guests, establish credit, and assigns rooms according to standard operating procedures.
- Verifies guest history information, issues guest room keys, and answers guest inquiries.
- Answers switchboard promptly, relays calls and records messages.
- Receives and sorts incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail.
- Post any and all incidental charges to guest folios.
- Checks out guests, finalize folio, collects payment, and obtains guest room key.
- Resolves customer complaints, recording specific complaint information.
- Maintains and cleans the immediate work area.
- Balances drawer at the end of shift and prepares cash drop and records on Cash Drop Log.
- Records significant information to Front Desk Log.
- Maintains compliance with company policies, practices, procedures, and safety standards.
- Inspects all conference rooms and common areas each day to ensure security standards are met.
- Reports in proper uniform, which is cleaned and pressed.
- To be familiar with local competition and rates
- To attend and participate in staff meetings.
- To handle all incoming reservations and record properly.
- To be familiar with the local areas surrounding the hotel with regards to restaurants, gas stations, etc.
- To handle inquiries, both phone and in person, giving property tours when at all possible.
- To perform daily, area hotel availability checks.
- Washes dry and folds laundry during their shift according to the Laundry Attendant guidelines.
- Other duties as requested.

Qualifications
- Customer service experience in a hotel or hospitality setting
- Front desk experience, preferably in a hotel environment
- Strong guest service skills and ability to handle guest inquiries and requests efficiently
- Proficiency in using multi-line phone systems
- Knowledge of hotel operations and night audit procedures
- Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
- Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus
- Prior experience in hospitality management or hotel management is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle guest relations effectively
