We are a growing hotel company that is currently seeking an experienced General Manager for our Holiday Inn Express & Suites Urbandale, IA location.
This hotel requires a strong leader with a hands on approach and experience working with a select service environment.
The General Manager works closely with the Above Property Management.
The General Manager oversees all hotel operations, including guest relations, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, finances, building a strong team and overall staff development.
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the hotel.
Responsibilities and Duties
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The General Manager is responsible for the entire hotel operation 24 hours a day / 7 days a week and must be available 24hrs/7 days/365 days as and when needed.
Responsible for all departments (Front Desk, Housekeeping, Breakfast, Maintenance) Hiring, Training, Evaluation, Termination. Must set an example for all employees at all times relating to guest service and professionalism. Must continually communicate with guests, employees, and supervisors to ensure high levels of guest satisfaction, employee motivation and the professional operation of the property.
The General Manager will act as Sales Manager on normal routine.
Responsible to achieve and maintain the goal set by the management in reference to Guest Satisfaction Scores and Room Revenue Goals, as well as Quality Assurance. Develop and implement action plans to improve hotel products and services.
Responsible to keep up the standard required by IHG and Management. Coordinates and implements training programs. Implement and organize management companies programs, policy and procedures, standards, set for by IHG and Management.
Responsible to do all daily, monthly and quarterly reporting, quality assurance compliance required by IHG and Management.
Responsible to ensure that the hotel's preventative maintenance and deep cleaning program is being maintained and documented.
Responsible to manage Revenue Management as per guideline set by management.
Qualifications and Skills
Previous IHG Experience a plus, but not required.
This positions requires a minimum of 5 years of hotel General Manager experience.
Prefer candidates local to the Des Moines area, but not required.
