Laundry Attendant

Overview:

Holiday Inn Express Laundry Attendant perform essential duties regarding handling linen from sorting, to processing, to finishing. Attendant will use industrial machinery to clean and fold various linens, then hang/wrap/pack linen into carts for distribution to various locations throughout resort.

How You'll Make A Difference:

• Processes damp flatwork linen through the feeder/ironer/folder machines to be pressed and folded. Place the clean linen on the correct carts for transport or bring to wrapping area to be wrapped in plastic for sanitary storage until needed.
• Removes clean towels from dryers and sorts by type for ease of folding on finishing equipment. Places folded towels into transport carts to be delivered back to cottages or public areas for use.
• Sorts dirty linen as it enters facility and places it in correct carts to be weighed and loaded into washing machines. Weighs carts to correct weight requirement for different machines for proper washing and then loads linen into the appropriate washers for cleaning. Selects correct formula for proper washing so as not to damage the linen.
• Folds, lays out, and hangs up clean food/resort linen dependent on size/type. Takes clean food linen to wrapping area for proper packaging in plastic while the clean resort linen will be placed in proper transport carts to be delivered back to cottages or public areas for use.
• Follows proper quality control procedures when handling linen which would include checking for stains, tears in fabric, and overall presentability to our internal/external guests.
• Off loads clean linen from washers into a transport cart to then load into dryers. Selects correct weight dryer and formula for proper drying to not damage linen. Removes linen that has been processed through industrial iron and places in staging area for proper processing
• Uses a special heat tool to carefully seal the packages to prevent contamination of the linen during storage/transport. Places clean linen on marked shelves for ease of location until needed.
• Assists in loading delivery trucks with transport carts of clean linen, may also assist in delivery of linen to locations throughout the park/resorts

We're Looking For:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be comfortable around large machinery with many moving parts.
• Must be able to work in a confined space.
• Must be able to perform physical and repetitious acts including, but not limited to: pushing, pulling, lifting, and gripping.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
