Position: Overnight Security Officer Reports To: Security Supervisor / Assistant General Manager / General Manager The Overnight Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of hotel guests, staff, and property during nighttime hours. The primary focus is on maintaining a secure environment, monitoring activity, and addressing any incidents or emergencies that arise.

Patrol hotel premises (both interior and exterior) to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, ensuring all doors, windows, and access points are secure.
Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or suspicious activity, evaluating situations and taking appropriate action, including notifying law enforcement if necessary.
Monitor CCTV systems and perform scheduled checks of security equipment to ensure functionality.
Assist guests and associates with security-related issues, providing directions and escorting individuals when necessary.
Handle emergency situations calmly and effectively, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, or evacuation procedures.
Document all activities, incidents, and safety issues in daily logs and reports, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to management.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations during nighttime hours, including guest service and housekeeping.
Investigate and report incidents.
Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures related to safety, security, and confidentiality of information.
Maintain a visible presence throughout the overnight shift in public areas, enhancing guest/associate comfort and discouraging inappropriate behavior.
Assist with crowd control during events, ensuring guest safety and managing potential disruptions.
Participate in regular safety drills, including fire and emergency evacuations.
Perform other duties as requested by management, including handling lost and found items or assisting with special projects. Qualifications: Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Prior experience in security or law enforcement preferred. Hospitality experience is a plus. Job Requirement:
Basic communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
Must be able to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond to emergencies efficiently.
Familiarity with safety and security equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, AEDs, surveillance cameras).
