Full job description
The Hotel Houseman/Maintenance is primarily responsible for the overall cleanliness of the hotel’s building and grounds and assisting with minor maintenance issues. Key responsibilities include providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel property and completing maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotel’s standard operating procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain company and franchise cleanliness & maintenance standards for both guest rooms and public areas.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests.
- Resolve maintenance problems, complaints and work orders.
- Ensure that property and equipment are maintained in a safe manner, and that all repairs are made as specified by manufacture.
- Service the hotel’s pool including cleaning, appearance, and chemical balance and completing maintenance log.
- Maintain building exterior.
- Thoroughly complete maintenance and houseman logs.
- Ability to focus attention on details, speed and accuracy.
- Follow and maintain a preventative maintenance program.
- Perform or assist with periodic or scheduled cleaning projects.
- Assist other departments when needed and perform other related duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Hotel experience required.
- Previous IHG hotel/s experience preferred.
- Physical Mobility and stamina required.
- Ability to follow instructions
- Detail-oriented
- Professional attitude is required
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate in a friendly manner with guests in order to create a warm, comfortable and relaxing environment.
