What are the responsibilities and job description for the Breakfast Server/Attendant position at Holiday Inn Express McCook?
JOB SUMMARY -
Maintains established quality standards of breakfast or social buffet, including set-up, servicing/maintenance, tear-down and clean-up.
This is a PART-TIME position and weekends are necessary.
Hours are 6:30 am-10:30am
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives and follows shift instructions from Supervisor.
- Responsible for set-up of breakfast bar and restocking as needed.
- Maintains quality standards of breakfast bar throughout breakfast hours.
- Maintains inventory necessary to operate quality breakfast bar.
- Cleans tables and chairs in breakfast bar area as needed.
- Tear-down of breakfast bar when breakfast hour is completed.
- Empties trash in Breakfast Bar area and Great Room at the end of shift and/or as needed.
- Washes, dries and puts away all dishes and utensils accordingly.
- Maintains newspapers throughout breakfast hour.
- Keeps kitchen area neat and orderly at all times.
- Sweeps and mops lobby area and vacuums rugs as needed.
- Sweeps and mops restrooms.
- Cleans glass entrance doors as needed.
- Leaves counter tops, tables and chairs clear and clean.
- Keeps cupboards and drawers orderly and clean.
- Cups, napkins, cream, sugar, etc. are kept well stocked.
- Cleans inside of refrigerator as needed.
- Cleans microwave/oven inside and out.
- Cleans coffee pots, containers, seals, dishes, serving trays, pitcher etc. and dishwasher. Put away appropriate items.
- Store all items (such as cereal) in proper containers.
- Receives approval from Supervisor prior to leaving at the end of shift.
- Maintains compliance with company policies, practices, procedures, safety and security.
- Reports every day in his or her uniform that is immaculately clean and in good repair including name tag.
- Personal hygiene, hair, nails, makeup, jewelry, etc. is always within guidelines.
- Greets each guest with a smile and greeting.
- Strives for guest satisfaction in every aspect of the job.
- Helps where and when needed during busy conditions.
- Works efficiently in a “full house” situation.
- Attends, participates and offers suggestions and opinions in staff meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
- Works as a team member with Manager and co-workers.
- Perform housekeeping responsibilities within Housekeeping Rules when needed.
EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to lift 10-20 lbs. frequently during the scheduled shift. Ability to operate vacuum. Ability to push housekeeping/serving cart. Ability to work flexible shifts as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to walk, stand, push, pull, bend, reach overhead, kneel, crouch and execute repetitive motions 75% of the scheduled shift. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. periodically during the scheduled shift
